Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency in the Antilia case on Thursday presented the suspended police officer Sachin Vaze with the Maharashtra Police in a special NIA court. Where the court extended Vaze’s custody till April 3. Vaze told the court that he was being made a scapegoat.
The NIA has imposed sections of Unlawful Practices (Prevention) Act) (UAPA) against Vaze. The NIA had on Wednesday filed an application informing the special NIA court about adding UAPA clauses in the case. If sources are to be believed, Vaze has been charged under sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA.
Vaze was produced before a special NIA court today. During the hearing in the court here, Vazhe said, “I have been made a scapegoat and I have nothing to do with this case.”
Vaze further said, “I was the investigating officer of the case for one and a half days and I did what I could to the best of my ability.” But suddenly there was some change in the plan. I went to the NIA office and I was arrested. ” He further stated that, “He has not confessed any crime. NIA counsel Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh told the court that all are shocked to learn that a policeman is involved in the crime. ” However, the court extended Vaze’s NIA custody till April 3.
