When the authorities came to know that the ASI sought the help of a godman to solve the case, they suspended the policeman concerned, official sources said on Saturday. The incident came to light after a video clip of ASI Ashok Sharma went viral on social media. In the video clip, he is seen seeking the self-proclaimed godman’s aid to winkle out the murderer of a 17-year-old girl. When the cop put up a list of probable culprits in the case, the godman reportedly said that the list did not contain a few names. One of the culprits whose name was not written on the list had been the main culprit, the godman reportedly said. Immediately after the video clip went viral on social media, people began to question the working system in the police department.
