Jhansi: Three women whose bodies were found in the Kurecha Separar dam in the Mauranipur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district on October 8 may have been murdered, the police said, after getting the post mortem report on Tuesday.
The women were identified as Reenu Purwar (28), Ritu Purwar (30) and Rinki Arya (28), all residents of Mauranipur. Reenu and Ritu were sisters and Rinki was their friend. They left for Bageshwar Dham, a religious place at Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh on October 7. Nearly five days have passed since the women died, but the police have yet to find a clue about the cause of their death.
According to senior superintendent of police Rajesh S, a case has been registered against some unidentified persons in Mauranipur police station. The post mortem revealed that two of the women had broken ribs and the other had a damaged liver. A three-doctor committed conducted the post-mortem examination, he said.
He further said that he had set up three teams led by superintendent of police (rural) and CO of Mauranipur to probe the case. As there were no external injuries on the bodies of those three women, they may have died of shock and haemorrhage, Rajesh S said, adding that the police began to investigate how they had gone to the dam.
