Tamil Nadu temples set to reopen from 10 August

The government of Tamil Nadu said that all the temples in the state are earning less than Rs. 10,000 per year and hence, they can be reopened from 10 August 2020.

Before this announcement, the rule was into effect only in rural areas.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 4,690 deaths so far, with 5,880 fresh cases.

In India, Tamil Nadu ranks the third for the highest number of coronavirus cases.

Thus, only few temples were reopened in the state from 1 July under the Unlock 2 guidelines.
