The full-dress rehearsals for the district-level Republic Day celebrations will be conducted on January 24 at Guru Nanak Stadium, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (general) Rahul Chaba.
At a meeting called to evaluate the plans for the January 26 celebrations, the same was revealed.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioner of police Simrat Pal Singh Dhindsa, assistant deputy commissioner of police Dr Pragya Jain, Municipal Corporation joint commissioner Ankur Mahindroo, and district revenue officer Pardeep Singh Bains, in addition to the heads of all government departments to take decision on the Republic Day celebration.
Before urging local people to celebrate Republic Day as a national festival, the ADC (general) indicated that no cultural function or physical training display will be held on the occasion due to Covid and government directives.

He went on to say that all participants must wear masks and behave in a Covid-appropriate manner. He also asked officers on duty to ensure that no problems arise for those attending the event.
