We live in stressful times where happiness is rare. Things don’t go as per our plan always. We face obstacles and sometimes challenges that we have never dealt with before. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking: Urvashi Rautela
Negative thoughts come often and go as that’s how the world has become, quite complex and difficult to interpret. Simplicity has lost its presence in people’s lives and everyone is in the race to get more, do more, and be more so that we don’t lose out on anything in life in the long run. Future is uncertain and that leads to insecurities in the minds of individuals and they get entangled in emotions, traps of drama, and other negative emotions like comparisons, disappointment, frustrations, and anger.
PM Modi asked students to engage in critical thinking, study new things
Positive thinking is a practice, it takes years for people to change their negative thinking and behavioral patterns to achieve what they want in life. Self-talk is a part of ourselves and if that person who talks in our mind is always looking at faults and what’s not there, then we are sooner likely to welcome mental disorders that are not good for our future.
I was a negative thinker before I met a counselor who taught me to change my thoughts and look at the bright side of life. I was always under a guilt of not living up to the expectations of others, which changed when she told me that I am only a human and not a God to be and do everything for everyone. Just being myself and listening to my inner voice helped me to complete my higher education that I had put on hold for a long while. Eventually, I got a good job and also got married to a good man. There were many challenges that came my way, but thinking of every obstacle as a learning lesson and opportunity for growth, I am using positive thinking for my benefit in life.
