Gone are the days when people used to cross the age of 80 or 100 and feel proud of themselves and their families. In the post-coronavirus times, what seems to be the unfortunate trend is people leaving us sooner than later. There are several news pieces daily coming on the internet and around the world of people dying even before they cross the senior age of 60. Just like yesterday when the news came of the Indian stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava dying at the mid-age of 58 came as a shock to everyone who adore him.

Even last month, there were famous businesspersons like Cyrus Mistry, and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away due to health reasons and even accidents. Irrespective of the cause of death, it seems that people are either no longer interested in living longer or it seems that the world is shrinking sooner with humans leaving the earth sooner. Well, this statement doesn’t need a fact-check or any numbers to be mentioned because, in my own extended family, I have seen several deaths dying in the last three years of the pandemic times.

So, how to deal with news related to the death of loved ones or known persons? Well, yes, the news media is there to cover each and every important information about people who are dying and what their families will do. However, if you start taking things personally and too seriously, then you are inviting unwanted troubles in your life called “worry” and “anxiety” much sooner.
It is difficult to digest the news if a youngster or a mid-aged person passes away and that’s an unfortunate fact. Because it is a popular belief that old people’s passing away is a good sign for the family as they have seen all life’s ups and downs and enjoyed their life to the fullest, which a youngster passing away might have not. After all, a youngster who died early may not have seen those aspects of life wherein he gets married, has children, raises them up, walks with them in all their phases and moods, and also contributes something meaningful to society while he works for making a living.
However, it seems we live in a rapidly changing and contradictory world. Where there is no clear-cut answer to any problem in life. It seems that death is also a mystery that may strike anyone at any point in their life and that’s why life insurance and health insurance companies are coming up with plans that will help the family members be getting some compensation for their immediate needs when the man or woman of the family passes away without any intimation.
Well, this piece of information is also full of mixed emotions wherein you won’t find how to really deal with news of death or how you can overcome the loss of your loved ones if any. Because it is believed that coming to this world and leaving this world is just not in our hands and the more we just live one day at a time, the more we will be in fine tune with NATURE.
