Lessons learned from One year of Lockdown

You should right now go to your bedroom and look at the mirror and say these words to yourself – “Thank you God and thank you to the person standing in the mirror (that is your reflection) that you have survived the one year of lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic”. After doing this exercise of gratitude, you should now sit and think of all the stuff that you actually learned during this one year of lockdown all over the country. This will help you understand that how life has been a huge blessing to you compared to all those others who have suffered the pandemic by getting infected with a virus, losing jobs, losing family members, and losing their business, and whatnot.

Below are my lessons that I learned during the lockdown:

1) Life is indeed a blessing for me because I realized the importance of my LIFE after I lost my father-in-law during the lockdown and my mother-in-law suffering from extreme neurotic problems.

2) I am grateful that I have a career in freelance writing because my husband has resigned from his full-time job as his job was quite demanding, expecting him to travel to his workplace and had immense negativity that didn’t allow him to give his best at work. I think I am blessed to make a small income from the writing work that I do as it helps me to at least take care of my current living expenses.

3) I am grateful that I am educated and can study further and sign up for more courses for my knowledge expansion. Reading the news, I am understanding how small children are unable to go to schools and are not able to enjoy the full-learning process that I enjoyed during my childhood. Yes, Class 10 and 12 exams are going to happen this year but how much are the marks justified for the efforts that the child has put in the whole year is still questionable? Will the child be happy with the results is another question and will the results allow them to go for the courses of their choice is another question? I am grateful to be graduated during the pre-coronavirus era and now my graduation marks are helping me to learn further on philosophy, counseling, crisis management, and peace studies.

After realizing the value of LIFE (GOOD HEALTH), INCOME AND EDUCATION, I am now stronger willing to be hopeful that we all will pass through these testing times gracefully. Stay home, stay hopeful!
