It so happened that I and my husband lost our full-time jobs during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. We live with our elderly in-laws who are completely dependent on us financially and emotionally as well. The first wave restricted my father-in-law to not visit the temples as it was closed and this created stress feelings inside him. He passed away in August 2020 leaving us all sad and heartbroken.

The years 2020 and 2021 have been quite tough for me and my family wherein I saw 6 deaths of my relatives and even people losing their jobs of my siblings and cousins. Eventually, I took up freelancing and my husband with a lot of effort got a job in a company. My brother had to relocate during the COVID-19 second wave as his previous job was quite demanding.

Just today another cousin who lives in the US called up and said he was jobless after his Master’s for a year and recently has got a job. As we are recuperating from the emotional and financial losses with small good news coming from here and there, we really wonder what is in store for us in the future. Experts warn that the third wave will appear between October to December this year and there is a cautionary message to follow social distancing, wearing of masks, and washing hands regularly.
What will happen next in our lives is not something we are aware of as a common man of this country. But all we can say is letting go of the past slowly and trying to see a brighter future will only help everyone to come out of everything that is keeping them stuck in their lives. Remember your happiness of revenge travel shouldn’t cost the life of someone’s loved one. Just do the right thing and keep evolving in life.
