On day 4 of the Navratri festival, Maa Kushmanda is worshipped by devotees. The 4th day of the Navratri festival falls on 10th October 2021, Sunday. On this day, Goddess Kushmanda is pleased by wearing cream, yellow, green, brown color clothes or sarees by women. Kushmanda Maa is considered to be the goddess of nature.

Maa Kushmanda is also called Ashtabhuja since she has eight hands and takes a ride on the lioness. In the four right hands, she holds the Dhanush, Kamandal, Bada, and Kamal while on the four left hands she has Amrit Kalash, Jap Mala, Gada, and Chakra. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu was creating the universe, Maa Kushmanda smiled like a lotus flower and created the universe from nothing. It is said that her silent smile is the reason that the darkness from the universe, stars, and planets has gone away.
Devotees can chant Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah 108 times during the day.
