Dil hai ki manti nahin… let’s talk about heart health

Have you wondered why people say they have failed in life when their hearts are broken? Why do they feel hurt so much that whatever else they have in life looks like a waste for them? For example, a son feels shattered when his father, irrespective of age or illness, passes away. I have seen a 37 years old man still crying over the loss of his aged father who passed away during the COVID-19 times. He is unable to accept the fact and is unable to come to terms with reality. It is because his heart keeps yearning for his father’s love that he is missing even at such an age.

Another example is of a woman who felt hopeless when her 25 years old son told her that he wants to move out of their home to get married and take up a job in a MNC. Living in a town was not possible to achieve both dreams. The mother tried her best to convince her son not to leave her but she had to due to the situation. Same way when her husband passed away due to illness, she felt more shattered. In a few years, her mother also passed away due to old age sickness. Now this woman is living alone and recollects only the memories with her son, husband, and mother. She faces separation anxiety and is unable to accept that change happened for everyone’s well-being only.

Our brains are sharp and intelligent but our hearts are not. Dil hai ki manta nahi..yaar.. told me one of my friends who were unable to cope up with the fact that his girlfriend is moving on with someone else in her life. When dil maanta nahi hai… toh use your brains to make it understand and take care of it well. After all, life doesn’t happen as per your wishes or commands but as per how God or the Universe has planned it for you.
