Hanuman Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman is going to be celebrated this year on 27th April 2021, Tuesday. This year due to the coronavirus’s stricter curbs and restrictions, people won’t be able to visit temples and offer their prayers to Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman is the main devotee of Lord Shri Ram, so it is believed that offering prayers to Lord Hanuman will also help us get blessings from Lord Rama.
Lord Hanuman is also known by names like Anjaneya, Maruti, and Bajrangbali. He was born as the eleventh avatar or incarnation of Lord Shiva to help Lord Vishnu’s (who was in the form of a human being Ram) difficult times on the earth. Lord Hanuman helped Shri Ram to free his wife Sita from the kingdom of Lanka where Ravana had held her captive and he also saved Lakshman’s life by going to the Himalayas to get the Sanjeevani herb.
Lord Hanuman is believed to be having mastery over all four Vedas and he is worshipped for getting the strength to tackle the challenges that one faces in human life. Lord Hanuman is the greatest devotee of Lord Ram and believes that there is no human-God like Ram. On Hanuman Jayanti, people read Hanuman Chalisa and praise the strong qualities of Lord Hanuman to get the needed courage and strength to fight the battles of life.
It is also believed that Hanuman Chalisa has the power to remove all the negativity from one’s life and help him lead a righteous path in this Kali Yuga. As temples or places of worship are closed, you can celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman by making a paper mala, writing Jai Shri Ram or you can take a paper and pen and write Jai Shri Ram 108 times and keep it near the idol of Lord Hanuman. If you feel at peace after doing the activity, then you can write Jai Shri Ram every day 11 times or 21 times or 51 times or 108 times as per your time schedule. Chanting Hanuman Chalisa every day also proves to be very beneficial scientifically and even spiritually.
May Lord Hanuman – “The One who Grows” inspire you to grow each day into a better version of yourself and may he guide you by showing you the light even when it feels like there is only darkness. Happy Hanuman Jayanti!
