InternationalUS Secretary of State Marco Rubio Mentions India-Pakistan While Talking About Ceasefires

Date:

News Desk – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that America closely watches the situation between India and Pakistan “every single day.”

Rubio was speaking in an interview about the war in Ukraine, explaining how difficult it is to bring and maintain a ceasefire. He said, “The only way to have a ceasefire is for both sides to agree to stop firing. And the Russians haven’t agreed to that.” He added that even if a ceasefire happens, it can collapse quickly, pointing out that the US also monitors tensions in places like India-Pakistan and Cambodia-Thailand.

Rubio stressed that the US is not just aiming for a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine but wants a peace deal that ensures no war now or in the future.

He also repeated in another interview that peace is a priority for the US administration, citing examples of Cambodia-Thailand and India-Pakistan relations.

However, India has made it clear that there has been no foreign role in its decisions regarding Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a discussion on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, said no world leader had asked India to stop the operation. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also confirmed that there was no third-party intervention in the ceasefire with Pakistan.
