Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that it would allow around 1,000 pilgrims of different nationalities in the country to perform Hajj this year. This is because the country is fighting its battle against the rise in corona virus infection. According to the Bangkok Post report, pilgrims currently outside Saudi Arabia will not be able to participate in it. This is a disappointment among Muslims around the world.
This time no devotees from India will go on Haj pilgrimage. In view of the Corona crisis, the central government made the decision following Saudi Arabia’s request not to send Haj pilgrims this year. The money of all two lakh thirteen thousand people selected for Haj pilgrimage is being sent back to their account.
Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that he had a telephonic conversation with the Haj Minister of Saudi Arabia on Monday evening. Referring to the Corona crisis, he urged India not to send passengers for the Haj-2020 this year. Honoring the decision of the Saudi Arabian government, the Center has decided not to send any passengers this year.
