New Delhi: The central government may soon reduce the gap between the second dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine and the precautionary dose from nine months to six months. Official sources gave this information on Wednesday. The recommendation is expected to be made by the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) to reduce the gap between the second dose of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine and the precautionary dose, he said.
The NTAGI is scheduled to meet on April 29. In fact, studies by ICMR and other international research institutes say that primary vaccination with both doses of anti-Covid vaccine reduces the antibody level in the body after about six months. Giving a booster dose increases the immune response against the pandemic.

Be aware that people over the age of 18 who have completed nine months of taking the second dose are eligible for a precautionary dose. Sources said that taking into account the studies and findings conducted at the international level, the gap between the second and precautionary dose of the Kovid vaccine is likely to be reduced from the current nine months to six months. However, the decision will be taken based on the recommendations of the National Technical Advisory Group, which is scheduled to meet on Friday.
From January 10, India engaged in health care and began giving preventive doses of vaccines to frontline workers. In March, the government made everyone over the age of 60 eligible for the precautionary dose. According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, so far 5,17,547 precaution doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been given to people in the age group of 18 to 59 years.
