New Delhi: 37-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has died due to Corona virus infection and with this the total number of people who died due to the disease in the country’s largest paramilitary force has increased to three.

Officials said Sunday that the constable of the 141st battalion of CRPF died in a hospital here on Friday. The constable was also suffering from cancer. Officials said the soldier had been undergoing treatment since April and was later found infected with the corona virus, which led to his death.

This is the third death in CRPF and 11th death in Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) or paramilitary force due to corona virus. Four personnel have been killed in the Central Industrial Security Force, two in the Border Security Force, one each in the Sashastra Seema Bal and Indo-Tibetan Border Police due to the corona virus.
