Corona to reach peak in June-July, AIIMS director warns

New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Randeep Guleria said on Thursday (May 7) that the number of covid-19 cases in June-July could go on the pick. Dr. Guleria said, given the modeling data and the increasing number of cases, Corona cases will increase in June-July. Corona virus cases have reached about 53,000 in India, while 1783 people have died due to this dangerous virus.

Two days ago, Randeep Guleria, director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Randeep Guleria said that the increase in cases at constant pace is a matter of concern. Guleria said that various modeling experts predict that the number of corona virus cases may rise in the next four to six weeks, so we need to be more circumspect and try to reduce the number of cases in the hotspots.

On the first day of the lockdown on March 25, the number of Covid-19 cases in India was just over 600 and 13 casualties.

On Thursday – 43 days since the lockdown began – the number of Covid-19 cases in India has almost touched 53,000 with about 1,800 casualties on.

Maharashtra with almost 17,000 cases, Gujarat with more than 6,500 cases and Delhi with more than 5,500 cases are the top three states accounting for more than half of India’s total Covid-19 cases.

Kerala has recorded the highest recovery rate and lowest mortality rate in the pandemic while Sikkim has been the only state so far not to report a single case of Covid-19.
