Wasim Khan Quits as Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board

In another tragic news for the Pakistan Cricketing Fraternity following the cancellation of major International Tours from New Zealand and England, the chief of Pakistan Cricket Board, Wasim Khan, has tendered his resignation before his term ended.

While there are speculations regarding the reason for him quitting, no concentre answers are available as of now. At a short statement on Wednesday, the PCB announced Khan’s resignation, adding its board of governors will “take up the subject” in a meeting later that day.

Former chairman PCB Ehsan Mani named Khan as chief executive in 2019. It’s the third high-profile resignation in Pakistan cricket since the former captain and famous pundit Ramiz Raja took over as PCB chairman earlier this month after Mani declined a short-term extension offer.

Misbah-ul-Haq, the head coach, and Waqar Younis, the bowling coach, have resigned from their coaches’ positions. For the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates next month, Raja has hired Australian Matthew Hayden as batting consultant and South African Vernon Philander as bowling consultant.
