UK PM Boris Johnson cancels visit to India, expressed regret

London: UK PM Boris Johnson has canceled the tour to India. Johnson had been skeptical of India’s tour since Corona’s arrival in the UK. This time Johnson was invited as the chief guest on the occasion of Republic Day. British Prime Minister Johnson spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and expressed his inability to visit India.

A spokesperson for Downing Street said that the PM spoke to Prime Minister Modi this morning and said that he would be unable to visit India later this month. PM Boris Johnson also regretted canceling his visit. Lockdown has been imposed in Britain due to a new strain of corona virus.

During a conversation with PM Modi, PM Johnson has said that it is important for him to stay in the UK so that he can focus on preventing the virus. In a phone conversation, the leaders of the two countries underlined their shared commitment to bilateral relations. Boris Johnson told PM Modi that he hopes to be able to visit India in the first half of 2021.
