From September 9 to October 17, the Telangana government will conduct a trial delivery of medications and Covid-19 vaccinations using drones in the Vikarabad area. The program is known as ‘Medicine from the Sky.’
The most recent endeavor is a collaboration between the Telangana government and Indian drone delivery start-up Skye Air Mobility. The former has partnered with courier firm BlueDart Express to undertake these studies to provide drone-based delivery and drone flights.

According to a government statement released on Wednesday, Telangana would be the first state to begin testing of ‘Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS)’ drone flights to distribute Covid-19 vaccinations. Skye Air Mobility is a drone-based logistics transportation company that focuses on an end-to-end ecosystem.
Two qualified remote pilots have been particularly trained for the BVLOS testing that will take place during the project. Drones will fly between 500 and 700 meters from the base during the first two days of the project’s testing when they will be visible to the human eye.

From September 11 onwards, BVLOS drone flights will be conducted at distances of 9 to 10 kilometers. According to the press release, the vaccines, medical samples, and other healthcare products will be transported on these flights.
