
New Delhi: Serum Institute of India has got approval to make Russia’s Sputnik V corona vaccine. Serum had applied for its approval, which was approved by DCGI. According to the information, under the licensed facility of Serum in Hadapsar, Pune, Sputnik V will be made and its examination test and analysis will be done. At present, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine in India.
The Serum Institute of India (SII) had applied to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) seeking permission for a trial license to manufacture the Kovid-19 vaccine Sputnik V in the country. This information was revealed on Thursday. The Pune-based company had also sought approval for testing licenses for analysis and testing.
Serum is currently producing Covishield, the corona vaccine made by Oxford and Astragenica. Serum has already conveyed to the government that it will produce and supply 10 crore Covishield doses in June.
