New Delhi. The migrant labourers are constantly troubled to reach their home state amid the increasing infection of the corona virus and now the Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the condition of the labourers. The court has issued notices to the Central government, States and Union Territories and sought a list of steps taken within two days.
Taking cognizance of the news related to the difficulties of migrant labourers, the bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice MR Shah said that we take cognizance of the problems and miseries of migrant labourers who are stuck in different parts of the country. Effective steps need to be taken to improve the situation.
The Supreme Court issued a notice to the governments of the Center, States and Union Territories that it would hear the case on Thursday. Along with this, the court has been asked to inform Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on the steps taken by the Center and the states on Thursday. The Supreme Court has also said that there are flaws in the arrangements of the Central and State Governments.
