PM Modi snatched away dreams, aspirations from Puducherry people: Rahul

New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi met with fishermen on Wednesday as part of his Puducherry tour. Praising the fishermen, the Congress MP compared him to the ‘farmer of the sea’ and also expressed his desire to travel with them in a boat to understand their problems while fishing. Significantly, elections are due in Puducherry in April-May and Rahul has arrived here to start his party’s campaign, while addressing a public meeting, Rahul Gandhi alleged that for the last nearly five years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not allow the Congress government to work.

He said, ‘Prime Minister Modi has taken away your dreams, aspirations and acted against the people by destroying the institution of Lieutenant Governor, just as he is destroying all institutions.’ He said that today, an Indian cannot get justice from the judicial system without fearing what will happen to him. During his visit to Puducherry, he interacted with the fishermen community.

Rahul, who was here to start the party’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the Union Territory, said that everything cannot be described through words and experience is required to understand it better. He said during a visit to a fisherman’s colony here that the purpose of experience is to understand their problems and issues as things can be revealed to some extent by questions. “Some things cannot be spoken,” Rahul said amid applause. Some experiences cannot be described. So I need a help from you. Next time I come here, I want to go with you in a fishing boat so that I can know your experiences. ”He said that this experience will help him understand the issues of fishermen in Puducherry.
