New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has expressed his deep sorrow over the suicide of Baba Ram Singh, the director of Nanaksar Singra Gurdwara, who is distressed by the farmers’ movement, and urged the government to consider the demand of farmers leaving stubbornness.
Mr. Gandhi tweeted, “Sant Baba Ram Singh Ji of Karnal committed suicide after seeing the plight of farmers on the Kundli border. My condolences and tribute in this hour of grief. Many farmers have sacrificed their lives. The brutality of the Modi government has crossed all limits. Quit stubbornness and immediately withdraw the anti-agricultural law. “
Congress Communications Department chief Randeep Singh Surjewala also condoled the suicide of Sant Baba Ram Singh, terming it the result of the cruelty of the Modi government.
