Punjab CM urges farmers to vacate Delhi

New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday urged the protesting farmers to vacate the National Capital and return to the borders where they were camping from the past two months.

“I urge all genuine farmers to vacate Delhi & return to borders,” the Chief Minister said.

Condemning the violence, Mr Singh said that “it is unacceptable”.

“The violence by some elements is unacceptable. It’ll negate goodwill generated by peacefully protesting farmers. Kisan leaders have disassociated themselves & suspended #TractorRally,” CM said.

Till now, according to sources, one farmer has lost his life at the ITO area of the capital while hundreds of them have been injured. The exact figures are yet to be determined.
