The nation, including the Prime Minister and the President, remembered Netaji on this occasion. But now the controversy has started over a picture in Rashtrapati Bhavan. A debate has started on social media about this picture put in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Some people are telling this picture as an image of an actor instead of Subhash Chandra Bose.
However, BJP sources have dismissed the allegation, stating that the picture was provided by Netaji’s family to the famous Padma Shri award-winning artist Paresh Maity, who painted the picture. Sources said, “The photo is not like Prosenjit . This is an unnecessary controversy.” It is not yet clear which family member provided this photo. Let us know that Paresh Maity, 56, is from East Midnapore district of Bengal and currently lives in Delhi.
Among those who raised questions about the picture, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is also included. She tweeted: “After donating 5 lakhs to the Ram temple, the President has honored Netaji by unveiling the portrait of Prosenjit , although she later deleted the tweet. Prosenjit Chatterjee acted as Netaji in the Shri Jeet Mukherjee-directed film Gumnami. Significantly, in his role as Netaji, Bengali film star Prosenjit Chatterjee bears a great similarity to the 2019 film and he reportedly used prosthetics for his transformation.
