United Nations: The World Health Organization has said that B.1.617, one of the three forms of B.1.617 Covid-19 first detected in India, is now “variant of concern”. At the same time, the rate of spread of infection in the remaining two forms is very low.
The B.1.617 form was first found in India and is divided into three forms B.1.617.1, B.1.617.2 and B.1.617.3. In the COVID-19 Weekly Epidemiological Update published on Tuesday, the WHO said that on May 11 this year, using the available data for variants B.1.617.1 and B.1.617.2, it was determined that B.1.617 is a global “” Variant of Concern” (a form that is cause for concern).
WHO said, “Since then it has been proved that the highest risk to people’s lives is from B.1.617.2, while the rate of spread of infection in other forms is very low,” released by the United Nations Health Agency. The update said, “B.1.617.2 is still VOC and we are monitoring the increasing rate of infection and increasing infection cases in many countries due to this pattern.” Studying the impact of this pattern is a high priority for WHO.
