The setback occurred just one day before the submission of nominations for the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022.
Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted Maithia interim bail and ordered her to cooperate with the inquiry.
Majithia (46) was arrested in connection with a narcotics case and has argued that the FIR against him was “politically motivated” and should be seen in light of the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
Bikram Singh Majithia is a general secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the brother-in-law of party head Sukhbir Singh Badal and former Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
