Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed sentenced to 10 years in jail

Lahore: Pakistan court sentenced Mumbai attack leader and JUD chief Hafiz Saeed to 10 years in prison in two more cases of terrorism.

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court sentenced the mastermind of the Mumbai attack and Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD) kingpin Hafiz Saeed to 10 years in prison on Thursday. Saeed was declared a terrorist by the United Nations and the United States has announced a reward of ten million dollars on him. He was arrested on July 17 last year for providing financial assistance for terrorist acts.

An anti-terrorism court sentenced him to 11 years in prison in February this year in two cases for providing financial assistance for terrorist acts. He is lodged in the high-security Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.

“The Lahore-based anti-terrorism court on Thursday sentenced four of its leaders, including Jamaat-ud Dawah’s mastermind Saeed, in two more cases.” Saeed and his two associates – Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid, 10 -10 years imprisonment, while his brother-in-law Abdul Rahman Makki has been sentenced to six months imprisonment.
