20 people died due to lightning in three districts of West Bengal

Kolkata: In West Bengal, 20 people died in different districts due to lightning. These deaths have happened in 3 districts. In South Bengal, since Monday afternoon, many districts including Kolkata witnessed heavy thunderstorms. During this, heavy rains have also occurred in these districts. 9 people died in Murshidabad, 9 in Hooghly and 2 in West Midnapore district due to lightning.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased on the celestial havoc in West Bengal. PM Modi has also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident. The PM has tweeted, ‘My condolences to the people whose loved ones have died due to lightning in West Bengal. Praying that those who have been injured get well soon.
