Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised doubts on the program announced by the Election Commission, raising doubts that the program has been announced as per the intention of Modi and Amit Shah. The Election Commission has announced to conduct eight phase elections in the state. Addressing a press conference at her residence in Kalighat, Mamata Banerjee said that the Election Commission should not look at the state “with the eyes of the saffron camp”.
She said, “With all due respect to the Election Commission, I want to say that questions are being raised on why elections will be held in Bengal in many stages, while in other states there will be voting in one phase. If the Election Commission does not provide justice to the people, where will the people go? ”
Banerjee said that despite “all these tricks”, she would win the election. She said, “I have come to know from my sources that the election dates are in the same way as the BJP wanted. Have the dates been announced as per the suggestions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah? The Prime Minister and the Home Minister cannot misuse their power for the election of the state. ” Banerjee expressed confidence about her party winning the elections, saying that she is the daughter of the state and knows Bengal better than the BJP.
West Bengal elections are going to be held in 8 phases. On March 27, the first phase of voting will be held. While voting will be held on April 1 in the second phase, April 6 in the third phase, April 10 in the fourth phase, April 17 in the fifth phase, April 22 in the sixth phase, April 26 in the seventh phase and April 29 in the eighth phase.
