New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday tore up copies of the disputed agricultural laws passed by the central government and warned that you should not be ‘worse than the British’. Making a strong comment in the special session of the Delhi Assembly called to discuss the farmers’ protests, Kejriwal also asked the Center “what was the hurry to pass these laws during the Corona epidemic”.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs also tore copies of agricultural laws. In a video shared by the ruling party, it is seen that the Delhi government has kept three of its laws in the House against the laws of the Center and Mahendra Goyal and Somnath Bharti of ‘AAP’ torn the copies of the agricultural laws into two pieces.
In the assembly, Kejriwal said, ‘It is hurting to tear down these three laws. But if the farmer of the country is on the streets in the cold, then I stand with his pain. So far, more than 20 farmers have been martyred in this movement. I want to ask the center and how much life you will take after that you will listen to the farmers of the country. A similar movement took place in 1907. For 9 months this movement was against the British. The movement was led by Bhagat Singh’s father and uncle. At that time also the British Government had said that we will make some changes in it. But the farmers stood firm. Did Bhagat Singh also sacrifice for this reason that farmers in independent India will have to agitate in this way.
