India will respond firmly to any transgression on LAC: PMO

New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued a clarification on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments in which he said that “no one entered into Indian territory and no Indian outpost was captured.” It said that India would strongly respond to any change efforts on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Responding to the attack of the opposition, the PMO has said that an attempt is being made to create a dispute regarding the statement of the PM, which is unfortunate.

This explanation of the PMO comes after Rahul Gandhi’s allegations in which he has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement. In a tweet on Saturday after Friday’s all-party meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that the Prime Minister has handed over Indian territory to China in front of Chinese aggression. The Congress leader questioned that if this land belonged to China, then why did our soldiers die? Where did they die?

The PMO said that in the all-party meeting, the PM had said that India would strongly respond to any attempt to change the LAC. In fact he specifically emphasized that unlike the past neglect of such challenges, the Indian Army decisively and vigorously combats any violation of the LAC. It was also clarified that this time, the Chinese forces came to LAC with a lot of force and the Indian reaction to it was also consistent with it. Chinese efforts to build a structure on our side on the LAC were thwarted by 16 Bihar Regiment soldiers. Due to the bravery of our soldiers, China has no presence in our border.

It has been said by the government that how much area of India is there, it is clear from our map. The government is determined to protect it. It was also informed by the government that it was also informed in the all-party meeting that in the last 60 years, 43,000 square kilometers of land has been occupied, which the country is aware of. We will not allow unilateral changes to the LAC. India will respond strongly to any attempt to change the LAC.
