The officials from the fire department said that they had to take a lot of effort to put out the fire because of the presence of much combustible material in the location. Many gas cylinders are said to have burst out in the fire.

Anuradha Reddy, who is an important heritage conservationist and also serves as a member of the Secunderabad Club said that the club is set up by the British in 1878 and is one of the ancient clubs in the country. Reddy said to the media that her house is quite near to the club. Thus, she thought that there was an accident and this morning, she got to know about the incident. She also shared how she heard about the big noises earlier in the morning.

In 2017, the club’s 100 years old Main Club House was provided with heritage status by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. The club has over 8,000 members and it includes military officers, diplomats, police officials, professionals, scientists, businessmen, and bureaucrats.
