Shrinagar: Five terrorists have been killed in an encounter by security forces in Shopian, Kashmir. The encounter is still going on. Two to three more terrorists are reported to be under siege. Extra force has been deployed and internet has been shut down to prevent stone-pelters from gathering at the scene.
Security forces received information that terrorists were hiding in Reban village of Shopian district in south Kashmir. On the basis of information, Army’s 1-RR, 178 battalions of CRPF and SOG personnel began to cordon the area. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists started targeting the security forces. The soldiers also talked about surrendering to the terrorists before taking charge. But the terrorists continued to target the security forces. After this, the soldiers took the front and killed five terrorists.
