Boston: Many scientists doing research funded by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have said that President Donald Trump should not use Facebook to “spread misleading information and make inflammatory statements”. Other researchers, including 60 professors from a leading US research institute, wrote a letter to the CEO of Facebook on Saturday (June 6), stating they had “strict policy on misleading information and inflammatory language that harms people.” I should consider, “especially at a time when conditions are sensitive to racial injustice.
In the letter, Harvard Medical School professor Deborah Marks said, “Researchers are opposed to some of Facebook’s steps, so we are motivating them to stick to the right side of truth and history and that is what we have written in the letter.” The letter has been signed by more than 160 researchers. It specifically objected to Zuckerberg’s decision not to mark Trump’s post as a violation of Facebook community standards.
