New Delhi: Rakesh Tikait has once again said a big thing about the peasant movement. Tikait said on Wednesday through Twitter that farmers will have to enter Delhi again and break barricades. Farmers have been agitating at various borders in Delhi for more than four months. Farmers who have camped in Delhi from all over the country demand that the three agricultural laws brought by the Center should be scrapped. At the same time, the Center is adamant on amendment. However, in January itself, the Supreme Court, while hearing the case, gave an internal moratorium on the laws. So far more than 250 farmers have died in the peasant movement.
Farmers’ organizations have also announced a Bharat Bandh on 26 March. In many states, farmers are sitting on a dharna. Farmers allege that the implementation of these laws will benefit the corporate sector and their land will go into their hands. Farmers are also demanding legislation on MSP. On this day, the Governor of Meghalaya, Satyapal Malik, supported the farmers. He had said that the Center should think about it. This has to be solved. On the case of farmer suicides, Malik had surrounded the Modi government and said that when an animal is killed, the leaders come to mourn.
Farmers had earlier called for a tractor parade on 26 January on the occasion of Republic Day. During this time, there was violence and heavy clashes with the police as they entered Delhi. Some people climbed the Red Fort and hoisted the religious flag. Many policemen and farmers were injured in this case, while one farmer died due to being hit by a tractor.
