Farmers’ issue will be overcome only by talks, PM Modi says in all-party meeting

New Delhi: The central government has maintained the possibility of talks with farmers protesting against the new agricultural laws. In an all-party meeting on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the issue of farmers will be overcome by dialogue. He said that the government’s proposal given to the farmers is still intact. Modi said that in the last discussion with farmer leaders, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had said that they are only one phone away from the farmers. In a meeting held through video conferencing, PM Modi said that the government is constantly trying to resolve the issues of the protesting farmers through dialogue.

Giving information to the media after the meeting, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the government’s proposal is still intact. Joshi said, “What was offered by our Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on January 22-23,” We are ready for the discharge. If you are ready for the discharge, I am available on a phone call. ” What was told to the farmer leaders is still intact. The government is ready to negotiate.

For the past two months, the protesting farmers have stood at various borders in Delhi demanding the repeal of the three new agricultural laws of the Center. Farmer leaders are celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on Saturday as ‘Sadbhavna Divas’. He fasted for a day at various performance venues.

Considering the functioning of Parliament, an all-party meeting was convened before the budget session. The meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Trinamool Congress leader in Lok Sabha Sudeep Bandopadhyay, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Balwinder Singh Bhundad, Shiv Sena’s Vinayak Raut and many other leaders. Normally, all such meetings take place before the session of Parliament, so that the proceedings of both the Houses can be conducted smoothly.
