Delhi govt presents Rs 69,000-Cr budget for FY 2021-22

New Delhi: Delhi’s Finance Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday made several big announcements while presenting the budget of FY 2021-22 in the Legislative Assembly. Sisodia said about the creation of Delhi School Board, that on the 75th year of independence, the Delhi government is going to start a patriotic curriculum in its schools. Apart from this, the Finance Minister has announced to spend 14 percent of the total budget on health.

Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said, “I make a budget provision of Rs 9,934 crore for Delhi’s health sector for 2021-22 which is 14% of the total budget. The Delhi government has decided that the people of Delhi will be given Corona vaccine free of cost in government hospitals. Sisodia has proposed a total budget of Rs 69,000 crore.

Presenting the budget, Sisodia said that by 2047, the population of Delhi is estimated to reach around 3 crore 28 lakhs. We are going to lay the foundation of the infrastructure that will be needed for such a large population in 2047. Sisodia has proposed a budget of Rs 69,000 crore for 2021-22. “This is more than double the budgeted amount of Rs 30,940 crore in 2014-15. The expenditure per Delhi government is expected to increase from Rs 19,218 in 2015-16 to Rs 33,173 this year,” he said.

Delhi’s Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said about the income of the people, “Our target is that by 2047, the per capita income of a citizen of Delhi should be equal to the per capita income of a citizen sitting in Singapore.”

  • Now in all government hospitals in Delhi, the common man will be given Corona vaccine free of cost.
  • To provide this free corona vaccine, the government will have to spend around Rs 50 crore.
  • By 2047, the population of Delhi will reach around 3 crore 28 lakh.
  • In this budget, it was announced to lay the foundation of infrastructure for the increased population.
  • A budget of Rs 69,000 crore was proposed for 2021-22 in Delhi. This will more than double the budget amount of Rs 30,940 crore in 2014-15.
  • At the same time, for further improvement in the education system of Delhi, the government will now focus on quality education as well.
  • Delhi government has also announced the opening of Sainik School in the national capital in this budget.
  • In this important budget, the Kejriwal government also announced a scheme for the educated youth in the name of Youth for Education.
  • According to the budget, special Mahila Mohalla Clinic for women will also be started in Delhi from next year.
  • In view of the success of Delhi government’s Mohalla clinic, now the government is going to take this new initiative. Under which the Delhi government will take the responsibility that every woman living in the capital should get health care.
  • Olympic Games will be organized in Delhi in the 100th year of independence. Infrastructures for sports are now being developed in Delhi.
  • At the same time, within the next few years, the Kejriwal government will make more arrangements. Under which, after the next 25 years i.e. in the year 2048, the Olympic Games will be developed in Delhi to claim all the facilities of the game.
