New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the CoWIN platform designed for COVID vaccination is being made open source so that the world can benefit from it.
Addressing the CoWIN Global Conference on Monday through video conference, Shri Modi said that India has always treated the whole world as one family. This pandemic has also made many people realize the truth inherent in this philosophy. He said that keeping this in mind, now the government has decided that the platform of Covid vaccination should be made open source so that any country of the world can benefit from it. He said that work is being done in this direction and soon the world will be able to take advantage of this technology.
The Prime Minister, at the start of his address, paid tribute to those who lost their lives due to the pandemic. He said that the world has never faced such an epidemic before in the last hundred years. It has been proved by experience that no matter how powerful a nation is, it alone cannot deal with this challenge. From the very beginning of this pandemic, India has committed to share all its experience, expertise and resources with the global community.
He said that despite all the limitations, India tried to share technology and other things with everyone as much as possible in the campaign against Kovid-19. He said that it is a good thing that there is no limit in terms of software, so we made the app related to Covid detection and contact tracing of infected person as open source as possible.
