Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Friday that the Centre will invest around 64,000 crores in developing health facilities in the nation over the next five years. While interacting with health officials at Khandro Drowa Zangmo District Hospital, the union Health & Family Welfare Minister, who was on a day-long tour to Tawang district.

“We will collaborate with the Ayushman Bharat digital health initiative, which will enable us to know a patient’s history and give better health care,” the minister added. Mr Mandaviya also praised the Pema Khandu administration for implementing a number of health-related projects in the state, assuring them of the Centre’s full support.

According to the report, state health Principal Secretary Dr Sharat Chauhan gave a power point presentation to the union minister on the state’s general health situation and informed him about the Covid-19 management and vaccination status in the state.

Dr Lobsang Tsetim, President of the Arunachal branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), proposed that the centre take over the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Nahrlagun in order to ensure its long-term viability, excellent education, and services.

Dr. Tsetim further stressed the importance of establishing a super speciality hospital in the state, as well as reforming all current primary health care facilities. Mr Mandaviya had previously visited the wards of the district hospital, where he talked with the patients and gave fruits. He also paid a visit to the hospital’s Jan Aushadi dispensary, according to the article.
