Ayodhya mosque to be named after freedom fighter Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah

LUCKNOW: The proposed mosque to be built in Dhannipur village in Ayodhya will be named after a freedom fighter in place of Mughal ruler Babur. The name of freedom fighter is Ahmadullah Shah Faizabadi, who died 164 years ago.

According to the Indo Islamic Culture Foundation, the freedom fighter of 1857 will be given due respect through this mosque. Hospital, mosque, museum and community kitchen will be prepared in their name.

Foundation Secretary Athar Hussain said that we remember freedom fighter Ahmadullah Shah on 5th June. On his martyrdom day, we have decided to name the entire project after him. He told that through the museum going to be built here, it will be shown how Hindu-Muslim worked together in the fight for freedom. Even after 160 years of the first war of independence, Ahmadullah Shah Faizabadi is yet to get his right in Indian history.
