Lucknow: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the Forensic Science Institute on Sunday in Lucknow. This scientific institute will be become a game-changer in controlling crime and speeding up police investigation in Uttar Pradesh.
It is being said that after the construction of this Forensic Science Institute, it will become the country’s most advanced and hi-tech forensic investigation lab. Along with forensic research, studies and research training too will be imparted to students from this institute. CM Yogi and State BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh along with many cabinet ministers and BJP workers of the state were also present at the ceremony.
It was told by the state government that the UP State Forensic Science Institute would pave way for speedy disposal of criminal cases through fast and evidence-based resolution. This institute is being constructed on 50 acres of land in the Sarojini Nagar area of Lucknow district.
This unique Center of Excellence after completion will become a pioneer institute in the field of DNA research in the country. It will facilitate the investigation of complex crimes with scientific results. This institute is the result of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s effort and it will prove to be a milestone in improving the image of UP Police and giving it new dimensions.

The UP State Forensic Science Institute will not only cooperate in the investigation of heinous crimes but will also provide opportunities to the youth for education and employment. In this institute, students of science and IT stream will also be able to do courses in different subjects and disciplines. Officers of the level of ADG rank of UP Police will be appointed as directors in this institute.
The best thing about UP State Forensic Science Institute, Lucknow to be built on 50 acres. The Center of Excellence for DNA will be set up here with the help of the National Court of Science University located in Gandhinagar. After its establishment, it will enhance and speed up DNA testing technology in Uttar Pradesh.
