LUCKNOW: In Uttar Pradesh, the election campaign is slowly gaining momentum, the movement of MLAs and leaders here and there has also started. In this way today 9 BSP MLAs met SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. It is being said that these people will join the SP. Significantly, all these MLAs have already been expelled by the BSP.
According to sources, the MLAs who met Akhilesh Yadav include Aslam Raini, Aslam Ali Choudhary, Mujtaba Siddiqui, Hakim Lal Bind, Hargovind Bhargava, Sushma Patel, Vandana Singh, Ramveer Upadhyay and Anil Singh.
The BSP had actually won 19 seats in the 2017 assembly elections and lost one seat in the by-elections. Since then 11 MLAs have been expelled. The BSP had expelled seven MLAs during the Rajya Sabha elections last year for breaking away from party lines. In such a situation, the party currently has only 7 MLAs. The expelled MLAs have not been disqualified yet.
The expelled MLAs from the BSP include senior party leaders Lalji Verma and Ram Achal Rajbhar. He was accused of indulging in anti-party activities. However, he was not among the MLAs who met Akhilesh on Tuesday.
Let us inform that earlier this month, these two leaders were expelled from the BSP. At that time also there was talk that both Verma and Rajbhar were in touch with the SP leaders. Verma, however, dismissed these discussions outright.
