Upcoming film of Imtiaz Ali, “Amar Singh Chamkila,” starring Diljit Dosanjh and beautiful Parineeti Chopra, will soon be out on Netflix. The movie is based on the little-known life story of Amar Singh Chamkila, the first rock star of Punjab and the artist with the most records sold at the time. A brand-new poster was unveiled along with the film’s release date.
Amar Singh Chamkila, who was once dubbed the “Elvis Presley of Punjab,” was a real rock star in those days. The late veteran’s role has been played by Diljit Dosanjh in an Imtiaz Ali film. Parineeti Chopra plays Amarjot, Chamkila’s spouse and singing partner, in the movie as well. On April 12, the movie will be available on Netflix.

Amar Singh Chamkila was filmed in actual places. The film aims to immerse viewers in the lively and musical world of Punjabi folk music, taking them all the way back to the traditional Akhadaas (live music events in villages) where Chamkila used to sing.
With Irshad Kamil penning the lyrics and AR Rahman composing the music, the audience will once again be enthralled by a Rahman-Imtiaz-Irshad collaboration. Even more thrilling is the fact that Parineeti and Diljit have both contributed vocals to a few of the songs. Live music audio recordings were made on location, a first for the movie, capturing the unadulterated joy and rawness of every second as Diljit and Parineeti sang in the Akhadaas.
On May 30, Netflix released the incredible teaser for the upcoming movie Amar Singh Chamkila. At the tender age of 27, the artist with the greatest record sales of all time was assassinated. One of Punjab’s greatest live performers ever is still thought to be The Chamkila. AR Rahman, a master composer, provided the soundtrack for the movie. A glimpse of Diljit Dosanjh being introduced on stage and greeting everyone in front of a small group of people is shown in the teaser. The fact that Diljit and Parineeti have contributed vocals to a few of the movie’s songs only heightens the anticipation.
