Our own Indian mythological show Ramayan sets a world record

Indian mythological show Ramayan has taken everyone by surprise as it has set a new world record with 7.7 crore viewership on 16 April 2020 night. Ramayan is 1987 television show, which was aired on DD National and made by Ramanand Sagar. The show is based on Valmiki’s Ramayan and Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas.

The series was re-telecasted since March 2020 on DD National due to nationwide lockdown that has been imposed in India to reduce the growing spread of coronavirus all over the country. It is reported that the television show has broken all records in terms of viewership all over the world for any TV show. During the lockdown, Ramayan claims the position of the most-watched entertainment show worldwide.

Internet users compared Ramayan show with the finale episodes of English sitcom The Big Bang Theory and Games of Thrones, which recorded quite lesser viewership compared to Ramayan. Also, a new hashtag #RamayanSetsWorldRecord started trending on social media. Ramayan’s retelecast completed on 18 April and its second part i.e. Uttar Ramayan was featured, wherein Lord Rama and Sita’s twin children’s Luv and Kush story was shown. The finale episode of Uttar Ramayan is going to be aired on 2 May 2020 at 9 PM on DD National.

Now, the world famous show Ramayan starred Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhlia, Sunil Lahri, Arvind Trivedi, Sanjay Jog, Sameer Rajda, Dara Singh and Bal Dhuri in important roles. All these stars of the show are very much happy and delighted with the new attention and recognition that they are getting on social media from youngsters and elderly all over the world.
