Director Chaitanya Tamhane from Mumbai is right now going through a compulsory quarantine in India after he came back form Venice early this week.
He waled the red carpet at the Biennale as he had been there for the premiere of his 2020 feature film, The Disciple,
As the year has not that great for movies due to coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, you will be amazed to know that The Disciple is the only selection from India for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada.
Due to safety restrictions, Chaitanya would have to only show his virtual presence in the Toronto festival.
The Disciple is a Marathi movie that explores the journey of a Hindustani classical vocalist in Mumbai.
The film has first-time actors such as Aditya Modak and Sharad Nerulkar in main roles.
