Amazon Prime Video has announced that it will directly premiere on its streaming platform some of the highly-anticipated Indian films. This is due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has shut down all the theatres all over the country.
Spanning five Indian languages, the list of movie releases include Anu Menon’s Shakuntala Devi with Vidya Balan in lead, legal drama Ponmagal Vandhal starring Jyothika, Keerthy Suresh-starrer Penguin, (Tamil and Telugu), Sufiyum Sujatayum (Malayalam), Law (Kannada) and French Biryani (Kannada). The most-awaited movies will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in the duration of next three months.
Ponmagal Vandhal (Tamil) will premiere from 29th May 2020. It features Jyothika, Parthiban, Bhagyaraj, Prathap Pothen and Pandiarajan. The film is a legal drama.
Penguin (Tamil and Telugu) will premiere from 19th June 2020. The film will feature Keerthy Suresh.
Law (Kannada) will be available from 26th June 2020. It stars Ragini Chandran, Siri Prahlad and veteran actor Mukhyamantri Chandru.
French Biryani (Kannada) will premiere from 24th July 2020 and will have actors Danish Sait, Sal Yusuf and Pitobash in lead roles.
Shakuntala Devi (Hindi) will also be released on Amazon Prime Video. It features the beautiful actress Vidya Balan in the lead role as maths genius Shakuntala Devi.
