
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has started the initiative of free high-speed WiFi service for all government colleges and universities in the state.
The unique service was launched at a college in his constituency Doiwala.
According to the minister, Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to enjoy and avail free internet in all government colleges and universities.
The move is to ensure that the free Internet connectivity in colleges and universities helps in the smooth and continued education of students.
Rawat said the decision is a huge step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative.
It is also a way to connect the traditional system with modern ways of education.
