Rajnath Singh to present model of anti-satellite missile system

Indian Defence minister Rajnath Singh will launch a model of the anti-satellite missile system at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) headquarters in Delhi today.

The missile system is considered to be a sign of technological advancement at national level for the country.

Earlier, an Anti-Satellite (A-SAT) missile test ‘Mission Shakti’ was victoriously held by DRDO from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha on March 27, 2019.

A DRDO-developed A-SAT Missile connected with an Indian orbiting target satellite in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in a ‘Hit to Kill’ mode wonderfully last year.

This feat led India to be ranked among the few nations who have the advanced technological abilities.

It also showed India’s unity in achieving such complex and critical missions

Then the announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who appreciated the efforts of the India’s space agency.
